Young Actor’s Theatre: Rumplestiltskin

Show: November 3 (at 7pm), 4 (at 2pm), and 5 (at 2pm), 2017

Children won’t forget the name of “Rumplestiltskin” after seeing this fairy tale adaptation. This charming musical highlights the traditional Grimm story, generously enhancing it with humor and with an endearing group of likeable, intriguing, and interesting characters. Come enjoy a cast of courtiers, guards, villagers, and a host of magical creatures as they sing and dance their way through Rumplestiltskin’s forest and into your hearts.

Auditions are underway for the 400th Anniversary of North Pole Musical, and everyone is in a panic! The dancing Reindeer don’t know what to do with Rudolph and his 4 left hooves. The elves are tired of always getting the short end of the stick and are singin’ the blues. The snowmen are “chillin” but worried about the funky hot lights, and the toys are trying to do the entire Nutcracker Suite in 3 minutes! See how Santa finds a way to remind everyone of the true meaning of the season. Then join the Theatre Singers as they bring the joyous sounds of the season through traditional carols and songs sure to enhance the holiday season for one and all.

Li’l Abner the Musical

Al Capp’s world-famous characters populate this upbeat musical extravaganza in a satisfying mixture of hillbilly nonsense and sharp, critical humor. A fun-filled, foot-stompin’ musical taken directly from the comics, Li’l Abner is laced with gentle satire, rib-tickling humor, and a host of brash, catchy tunes. The score features “If I Had My Druthers,” “Jubilation T. Cornpone,” “Namely You,” “Progress Is the Root of All Evil,” and “The Country’s in the Very Best of Hands.”

The Red Velvet Cake War

In this riotously funny comedy, the three Verdeen cousins could not have picked a worse time to throw their family reunion. Their outrageous antics have delighted local gossips in the small town of Sweetgum, as their self-righteous Aunt LaMerle is quick to point out. But the cousins can’t back out of the reunion now. Things spin hilariously out of control, as this fast-paced romp barrels toward its uproarious climax, you’ll wish your own family reunions were this much fun!
